We may still have a little while to go until the first race of the 2025 Formula 1 calendar, but thanks to last year’s unmatched silly season, it’s safe to say we are counting down the minutes until lights out.
Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari? Our Kiwi cousin Liam Lawson on the grid? Oscar Piastri taking the top step of Albert Park? (well, that’s what I’m manifesting anyway). We really do have a lot on the agenda for this year’s season and luckily for us Aussies, Formula 1 has scheduled the Australian Grand Prix as the first race of 2025 – meaning we can catch all the race week action without having to wake up at an ungodly hour.

Thanks to all the seemingly endless changes in the paddock and a little documentary series known as Drive to Survive, the demand for Aus GP tickets is higher than ever, with organisers even being forced to reschedule this year’s ticket sale date as a result of Ticketmaster’s server being overwhelmed by race-ready fans.
If you survived the great Aus GP ticket war of 2025, congratulations! If you, like me, couldn’t secure the bag the first time around but are still dying to get your seat at the first race of 2025, then we have some good news for you…

Where to buy 2025 Australian Grand Prix tickets
While the bulk of tickets may be sold out to the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, there is still hope for Formula 1 fans ready to head to Melbourne for the first race of the season.
If you’re keen to head to the track on either a Thursday or Friday, there is still a selection of Park Pass and Grandstand tickets available through Ticketmaster.
Want to be there for all the quali and race day action? You’ll be happy to know that Ticketmaster also lists re-sale tickets to the Aus GP through their site, allowing fans who have previously purchased a ticket to re-sell their ticket to another fan for close to face value.
As these re-sale tickets are updated in real-time, be sure to keep checking Ticketmaster regularly in the lead-up to the grand prix as any tickets available will be quickly snapped up by other race-ready fans!

When is the Melbourne Grand Prix?
If you don’t already have a daily countdown set on your phone, the 2025 Australian Grand Prix will take place between Thursday, March 13 – Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Who is performing at the Melbourne Grand Prix?
Racing action not enough for the first Formula 1 weekend of the year? Well, if you’re ready to party long after the chequered flag, the Aus GP have officially confirmed the lineup for The Crown Lakeside Festival.
From Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 16, the Albert Park circuit will be home to some major music talent, with two acts taking to the stage following the stage over the three days.
If you managed to get your hand on a ticket to the Aus GP for any day between Friday and Sunday, entry to the festival is included in your ticket. Only heading in for the tunes? Sorry music fans, but there is no separate ticketing to the festival outside of Formula 1, so you will need at least a park pass to enter the post-session festival.
The lineup for the Aus GP Crown Lakeside Music Festival is as follows:
- Friday, March 14: The Living End | Spiderbait
- Saturday, March 15: Tones and I | Baker Boy
- Sunday, March 16: Fatboy Slim | Anna Lunoe
