When audiences first met Jamie and Dave on this year’s season of Married at First Sight, the pair’s wedding was proof that opposites really do attract.
At 6ft 6” with tattoos covering his arms and neck, Dave might look like the quintessential bad boy, but he’s actually a gentle giant with a shy streak. Enter Jamie, a confident, outgoing Greek “pocket rocket” with a big personality and a knack for turning heads. She’s been searching for a guy who looks like trouble but has a soft heart—and it seems the experts have delivered exactly that.

For Jamie, it was fireworks from the moment she saw Dave. As she walked down the aisle, her eyes lit up when she spotted his tattoos. “Is that a neck tatt?” she exclaimed before Dave even turned around. At the start of the experiment, they were rock solid. Jamie leaned on Dave throughout dinner parties, commitment ceremonies, and even the dramatic couple’s retreat. They were so united that they even did a joint TV interview on Today Extra, where Dave spoke about his mindset going into the show.
“Coming on this show, it was really important to me to come on with the right attitude and an open mind,” he said. “It was important to me to give someone like Jamie the opportunity to feel connected.”
The hosts even noted their chemistry, and Jamie playfully revealed a “controversial” red flag about Dave—he’s not a dog person. But despite their easygoing dynamic on-screen, cracks started to appear as the experiment progressed.
During the couple’s retreat, Jamie told Dave she loved him, but at a recent commitment ceremony, it was revealed that he hadn’t said it back. Then came the couple swap challenge, where Jamie received some harsh truths from Adrian about Dave’s level of attraction to her. When she confronted Dave, things took a turn.
“You said you loved me six weeks into this… I’m not there,” Dave admitted.
Jamie, clearly upset, pushed for more answers: “Are we having a lack of sex because we’re not in the love stage? Yes or no?”
“Yes,” Dave said bluntly.
To make matters worse, while other couples in the swap challenge chose to sleep separately, Dave was seen waking up in the same bed as Veronica. Given his ongoing issues with Jamie, this decision raised eyebrows.
Despite recent sightings of Jamie and Dave together in Melbourne, their on-screen relationship is in serious trouble. The dinner party saw things go from bad to worse, with Jamie telling Dave, “You broke my heart and you didn’t care.”
Dave insists he still wants to make their relationship work, but Jamie isn’t convinced. “I don’t feel it,” she responded. “I don’t know who I’ve been laying in bed next to.”
As the season drew to a close, sources spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle, claiming the former couple had officially split and were “at war” with one another.
“Dave has felt disappointed at how Jamie has failed to defend him in all the press interviews she’s been getting lately. He thinks she has been making the backlash he’s had even worse and just stirring fans against him,” a source told the publication.
“Jamie has been embarrassed by how Dave has been hanging out with all the has-been reality stars in Melbourne, posing for the paps and selling video messages,” another source added. “It just makes her think more than ever that he wasn’t on MAFS for the right reasons and she wants to distance herself completely.”
Are Jamie and Dave still together?
Despite the rumours, the pair kicked off the 2025 final vows with a sweet and happy ending.
Although we may still not know where the pair currently stand (the show is pre-recorded), their commitment ceremony saw the couple embark on their relationship in the real world.
“Six weeks into our marriage, you told me you loved me,” Dave admitted in his speech. “It was overwhelming. I wasn’t ready to say those words back, but I promised that I would show up no matter what, and over the past three months, I’ve done my best to live up to that promise.”
“Through all of this, you’ve become one of the closest people to me in my life. I came here looking for something that could last, something worth holding on to and with you. I believe that’s possible. So today I choose us. Let’s give this a real shot. I want to leave here with you and whatever comes next, I’m ready if you are.”
“I don’t want either of us to feel like we’re settling or to be in a relationship where one of us isn’t truly fulfilled,” Jamie explained. “I deserve to be loved, Dave, and I just don’t know whether I’m willing to wait to see if you can get there, too.”
” I also know that I’m not ready to walk away from this or from you, and my heart tells me that I’m not ready to let go of you and everything we built together. So yes, I do want to take this relationship beyond the experiment because I don’t think this is the end of our story. In fact, it might just be the beginning.”
